UNM Wesley makes it it's mission to have at least one service project a month and a yearly mission trip (usually during Spring Break).
So far in the Fall 2014 semester, Wesley has:
- helped prepare the Sacramento Methodist Assembly for the winter in a weekend long work retreat to the mountains.
- Donated baked and decorated goods to help Covenant UMC with their rummage sale
- Our latest service project for the month of October was helping out with Albuquerque's Zoo Boo at the ABQ BioPark Zoo.
During the 2011 Spring Break, Wesley spent spring break helping to rebuild the city of Joplin, MO, in the wake of the 2011 tornado (you can read our trip blog here).
The 2012 Mission Trip was postponed to a week in the summer to help New Orleans with reconstruction and clean up that was still going on.
The 2013 Mission Trip was to Drake, Colorado where we were part of an effort to restore the historic River Forks Inn Bed and Breakfast. This 108 year old B&B was heavily damaged by the 2013 flood, and it was our privilege to help it begin to recover.
We believe that serving others is a vital part of our calling as Christians. If you'd like to participate in one of our service projects or know of a need we can help to fill, please email us!
